Sorry sir, the admiral's orders stand. This is now a military operation under his jurisdiction.
―Fox to Anakin Skywalker.

Commander Fox (birth number CC-1010) is a minor character in the 2008 film Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a supporting character in the 2008-2020 animated series with the same name of the film.

He was a clone trooper officer and clone commander of the Coruscant Guard during the Clone Wars. He is perhaps best known for being responsible for Fives' death, which prevented the other clones from knowing Order 66 ahead of time before the order was initiated and it was too late. He was also responsible for executing the command given to him by the chancellor to kill Ahsoka Tano after she had accidentally force choked her prison mate, and Fox was attempting to prevent Anakin from seeing her after he was commanded that nobody could talk or see her from Wilhuff Tarkin.

He was eventually killed after the events of Order 66 when he and his troops were tasked with a mission to kill a Jedi, however his troops instead targeted Darth Vader as they mistook him as the Jedi librarian known as Jocasta Nu. Vader became upset, and with his anger getting to the best of him, acted in rage by choking Fox to death from the power of the force.

Background[]

Personality[]

Like every other clone trooper in the Guard, Fox was bound by honor and duty to protect and serve the Supreme Chancellor and the members of the Galactic Senate. He spent little time with Jedi, and his loyalty was first to the Republic. He followed orders swiftly and effectively, never visually questioning them.

He is a fearless soldier who led the elite Coruscant Guard shock troopers into combat, and was always the first to charge into battle. As with the rest of the Guard, Fox possessed a strong sense of duty and honor which compelled him to loyally serve and protect the Republic's highest governing body—the Galactic Senate and the Supreme Chancellor. His service was exemplary, leading him to become one of the most highly decorated soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic.

Weapons and Equipment[]

  • DC-17 hand blaster: Fox uses this blaster to stun or shoot lasers at his enemies.

Armor[]

  • Phase II Coruscant Guard armor: Fives utilizes Phase II Coruscant Guard armor to protect himself from his enemies in battle.

Former Weapons and Equipments[]

  • Phase I Coruscant Guard armor: Fives utilizes Phase I Coruscant Guard armor to protect himself from his enemies in battle.

History[]

The Clone Wars[]

When Senator Padmé Amidala was kidnapped in the Coruscant lower levels, he realizes the Separatist threats are everywhere.

Fox's duties have made him familiar with the seedier levels of Coruscant, including the palace of the foul crimel ord Ziro the Hutt. When word came that Ziro imprisoned a Republic Senator, Fox and his Guardsmen rushed to the scene.

Fox made his debut in the episode "Hostage Crisis".

Chasing Criminals[]

Assigned to a Republic military base, he pursued the fugitive Ahsoka Tano who was blamed for the murder of Letta Turmond, but she evades capture. Fox later killed rogue clone trooper Fives before he can reveal a conspiracy within the Republic.

Imperial Era, Order 66 and Death[]

Later in the aftermath of the Clone Wars, Fox retained command of the Coruscant Guard and when the Republic he once served had been reorganized into the Galactic Empire. During the early years of Emperor Palpatine's reign, Fox organized a security perimeter encircling the fallen Temple of the Jedi Order while the Sith Lord Darth Vader attempted to capture the Jedi Master Jocasta Nu, one of the few survivors of Order 66. Ultimately, Fox was killed by Vader after the shock troopers tried to kill him, having mistaken the Sith for a Jedi.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only clone of Jango Fett to be a hated character.
  • Commander Fox is directly and indirectly responsible for the following events that happen:
    • He unintentionally let Demolition Droids disguise as Sweeper Droids to the city's power generator and also ruin the peace negotiations between Padme Amedila and Senator Mina Bontari.
    • He arrested Ahsoka Tano and also cause Ahsoka's faith in the Jedi Order and Republic to be shattered which also cause Anakin's distrust in the Jedi Order.
    • And by far the infamous example, he murder Fives and unintentionally help Darth sidious to keep Order 66 to be revealed.
  • In a bit of Irony, Fox had no idea Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker were the same person and so he killed by the same Jedi who was Ahsoka Tano's master and eventually, karma finally got to him.
