The Cottage of the Seven Dwarfs is one of the main settings in the 2025 live-action adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is the home to the Seven Dwarfs and also Snow White for a short period of time.
Snow White finds the cottage while running in the forest, to hide from the Evil Queen. Snow is quickly befriended by the Dwarfs and they make her feel at home and offer her safety from the queen.
Background[]
The cottage has been around for centuries, as old as the Seven Dwarfs themselves.
History[]
Snow White comes across the cottage one night after falling down a stream, while on the run from the Evil Queen. When Snow meets some forest animals, they lead her to the cottage and she stays the night in order to stay safe and rest. However, the seven dwarfs come across her while she is asleep and show fear towards her. All of them accept Dopey, hide on the other side of the door, fearing Snow White as she is covered in blankets and have no idea what she is. Snow soon wakes up and shows kindness towards Dopey. Doc introduces all the dwarfs to Snow and they learn she is the princess that is believed to have not been seen for many years. Worrying for Snow White's safety, the dwarfs - minus Grumpy - are more than happy to let Snow stay with them.
The following morning, Snow helps them clean the house and teaches them to get along better and work as a team. The song is a success and the house is cleaner, making the dwarfs happier. However, Snow tells the dwarfs that she must leave as she is trying to locate her father. On her way, Snow White is runs into Jonathan - who tried to steal from the castle a couple of days earlier. After Jonathan gets hit with an arrow, while trying to save Snow White, she brings him and his friends to the cottage in hopes that Doc can cure him. However, the dwarfs and bandits refuse to get along so Snow motivates them by saying this is what the queen wants - for them to turn on each other. After some time, Doc is successful and Jonathan is restored to full health.
That evening, Snow is informed that Jonathan took that arrow for her and she realises she is in love with him. Snow starts singing about Jonathan, which he joins in on and the two realise they are in love with one another. They are about to kiss before noticing everyone is watching them and suddenly hear the queen's guards coming for them so Jonathan tells Snow he will return in two days. Snow wants to join Jonathan but he tells her to stay here while he leaves for a couple of days with his men and the dwarfs leave for work. Some hours later, Snow opens the door, thinking it's Jonathan, only to find an elderly lady offering apples. The lady claims to be thanking Snow for her kindness and Snow takes the apple. However, as she bites into it, Snow White realises something is wrong. As Snow starts to feel ill, the old hag reveals herself as the evil queen and that she killed Snow's father years ago, just as her stepdaughter falls into a sleeping death.
Hours later, the Dwarfs return home to find Snow lying on the ground, seemingly lifeless and place her on a nearby rock, and mourn their friend. Jonathan, who has managed to escape the queen's dungeon, finds the seven dwarfs mourning their friend and kisses her. The kiss awakens Snow White and the couple embrace. Snow White declares that the kingdom is hers and everyone should work together to get it back, with the help of the dwarfs and everyone in the kingdom to rally against the queen.
While the cottage is not seen beyond this point, it is believed that the dwarfs return following the queen's defeat and Snow White's wedding to Jonathan.
