The Crocodiles are characters featured in the Jungle Cruise attraction at the Disney Parks. They consist of various individual crocodiles in various parts of the jungle representing Africa (Nile crocodiles) and Asia (mugger crocodiles) respectively.

Background[]
These crocodiles inhabit various parts of the jungle representing Africa and Asia respectively. Some of the crocodiles seen in the ride are shown to not mind the visitors passing via boat while others are shown to have a hostile attitude to visitors who pass by them.
Due to the success of the attraction at Disneyland, the Jungle Cruise attraction was later constructed at the Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland, still featuring the crocodiles in it.
Members[]
Old Smiley is a crocodile living in the ruins of an ancient temple representing Asia. It is said that Smiley had many children and gained a reputation as the grandfather of all the crocodiles inhabiting the temple.
Two individual Nile crocodiles inhabiting the Crocodile Country area, they were individually dubbed "Ginger" and "Mr. Smiley" respectively, implying them to be female and male crocodiles respectively.

In the Disneyland version, Old Smiley can be seen in the area representing the ruins of an Asian temple, followed by a few more crocodiles seen in the area where a tiger is at. Guests manage to evade the crocodiles in time alongside the tiger and the cobras. Another crocodile is seen in the elephant scene where a mother elephant is protecting her calf from a hungry crocodile attempting to attack her offspring.
Magic Kingdom/Tokyo Disneyland[]
In the Magic Kingdom version, two crocodiles are encountered after passing through the African Veldt seen where they are seen staring at guests which is dubbed "Crocodile Country" just before passing through a waterfall. Guests manage to avoid the crocodiles in time. More crocodiles can be seen emerging from the water when guests are about to enter the ruins of an ancient temple which the boat manages to evade the crocodiles in time. Another crocodile can be seen in the scene where the elephants are at where a mother elephant attempts to protect her offspring from a crocodile.
In the Tokyo Disneyland version, the original gag depicting a hornbill under attack by a crocodile was seen which was originally from the California version of the attraction. In addition to this, a gorilla can be seen attempting to shoo away an angry crocodile with his stick. Two additional crocodiles are encountered after passing through the scene where an angry rhino attacks a group of explorers. Guests manage to avoid the crocodiles in time. More crocodiles can be seen emerging from the water when guests are about to enter the ruins of an ancient temple which the boat manages to evade the crocodiles in time. Another crocodile can be seen in the scene where the elephants are at where a mother elephant attempts to protect her offspring from a crocodile.
Hong Kong Disneyland[]
In the Hong Kong Disneyland version, crocodiles are encountered during the scene where the boat passes through the temple of the ancient ruins before passing through a gorilla camp.
Living with the Land[]
Some of the animatronic animals seen in the rainforest sequence are identical to the ones used in the Jungle Cruise attraction - particularly the crocodiles seen in the ruins of the ancient temple from Jungle Cruise, as well as the macaques, implying that these figures were recycled from the attraction.

A crocodile appeared as part of the Jungle Cruise scene.
Virtual Safari[]
The crocodiles in the Virtual Safari bonus feature included in Disc 2 of The Lion King Special Edition show an homage to the ones seen in the Jungle Cruise attractions at the Disney Parks. When the boat stops for a while, Timon warns Pumbaa thinking there are alligators in these waters, which Pumbaa corrects him, telling him that alligators are only found in North America just as the animals attacking their boat are revealed to be crocodiles. The crocodiles ferociously attack the boat and attempt to eat Timon and Pumbaa just as they manage to quickly evade them in time.
Virtual Magic Kingdom[]
Crocodiles randomly appear in the discontinued video game in the Jungle Cruise mini-game as one of the animals the player must take picture of throughout the mini-game.
Kinect: Disneyland Adventures[]
Crocodiles also appear in the Kayaking level the Jungle Cruise mini-game as obstacles that the player must deal with. They will swim towards either or both sides of the kayak and the player must whack them with their oars before they snap their jaws and subtract the player's coin total.
Disneyland Explorer[]
In the Adventureland section of this app, two crocodiles could be seen next to an elephant and the tiger. Clicking on any of the animals displayed information on the Jungle Cruise attraction, as well as the option to watch a short video on it.
Trivia[]
- Concept art by Marc Davis depicts the crocodiles in the African Veldt scene prior to the being separated from the African Veldt scene.
