"Crushed" is the thirty-sixth episode of the Disney Channel and Marvel Animation series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.
Synopsis[]
When Lunella discovers that Eduardo has a crush on her, she creates a fake boyfriend to spare his feelings.
Plot[]
At school, Coach Hrbek assigns partners for science class, with Lunella paired with Eduardo. Unbeknownst to Lunella, Eduardo has a crush on her and is nervous around her. Later that day, Casey introduces a landline telephone to use for the Moon Girl Hotline. Lunella answers calls, with one of them being Eduardo who asks for dating advice. Assuming he is talking about Jurnee, they tell him to be up front and honest and to gift her something she likes. They learn that he is actually asking about Lunella, much to their shock. The next day, a nervous Lunella tells Eduardo that she already has a boyfriend. He nevertheless asks if she would like to go to an 80s themed party, which she accepts.
Lunella decides to pull out Blobby from the last party she took him to and she and Casey mold him by having him watch 80s movies. Due to some of the dated themes, they set Blobby's parental controls to make him only accept the positive messages. He molds into a presentable person named Corey. At the party, everyone is impressed with Corey, with Lunella still being nervous about the whole situation. At one point, someone spills grape juice on Corey, causing him to short circuit and become antagonistic towards Eduardo. They "take it outside" where Corey begins to attack Eduardo, forcing Lunella to chase them.
Corey begins causing havoc in the streets and Lunella comes clean to Eduardo about her feelings and why she created Corey. He admits that while he is disappointed he understands and is happy remaining friends with her. The two team up, with Lunella sneaking off to change into Moon Girl, and the two defeat Corey by tricking him into a dance off and throwing rock candy at him, melting him down for good. Lunella reunites with Eduardo where the two of them continue to make amends, but now Lunella has a new problem. Eduardo now has a crush on Moon Girl, leaving her feeling incredibly flummoxed.
