"Cubix Dudes" is the first segment of the fourth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, Hailey's On It!
Synopsis[]
When Hailey's plan to build an owl habitat is derailed, she learns the value of sacrifice for the good of a friend.
Plot[]
Hailey's next item is take a photo of a strawberry moon owl, an owl that, as its name implies, only shows up during the strawberry moon. Hailey has a close connection to it as it shows up during her time of need such as when she first learned to ride a bike. She and Scott are at a school assembly when they witness the Cubix Dudes, a group of performers who specialize in fancy cub solving. Scott is taken by them and wants to be like them, with Hailey shocked that he is capable of solving cube puzzles. While signing autographs, member Pink Lynx injures his hand and upon the group seeing that Scott is capable of doing the tricks needed, is immediately inducted as the new Pink Lynx.
Hailey reminds Scott that he is supposed to help her with getting a photo with the strawberry moon owl, but he insists that he will be there for her. As Hailey sets up her bird nest for the owl, Scott arrives late, revealing that he was held up by hanging out with the Cubix Dudes, but then admits that he has a show with them Saturday evening, the same evening Hailey is supposed to get the photo. Hailey reprimands him as he promised to be there sooner and is afraid that the strawberry moon will be leaving. She then openly admits that her task is much more important than his time with the Cubix Dudes. Hurt by her words, he promptly leaves and tells her to find someone else to help her.
Both Hailey and Scott begin to miss one another. Hailey meets with her father, Kai, and tells him what happened and he reveals the night she was born, he saw the strawberry moon owl. Realizing that she should always support her friend, Hailey goes to the show to see Scott perform, much to both their delight. After the show, Scott admits that he finds Cubix solving pointless and will be leaving the group. They get their photo taken just as the strawberry moon leaves. However, Hailey learns that she completed the task as the owl showed up on the photo. Hailey takes an image of it on her phone, as she had to pay for it, and she and Scott happily run off.

Trivia[]
- This episode (along with its sister episode "Cos-played") was supposed to air on June 24, 2023, but it ended up getting changed to June 17, 2023.
- Hailey have been visited many times by a strawberry owl on a strawberry moon-on the night of her birth, when she was learning to ride a bike, and when making up with Scott-her father says the owl reminds him of their family guardian spirit.
- There is such as phenomenon as a strawberry moon that happens during the summer solstice. However, it occurs in June and the episode clearly takes place in the middle of a school semester.
- Patricia Banks, Buzzsaw, Chainsaw, Becker Denoga, Lucy Morgan, and Tina St. Claire make a cameo in this episode.
