Dabney Wharton Coleman was an American actor, well-known for his distinctive raspy voice. He is best known for roles in the films 9 to 5, Cloak & Dagger, Tootsie, WarGames, You've Got Mail, and on TV as Louis "The Commodore" Kaestner in HBO's Boardwalk Empire.
For Disney, he provided the voice of Principal Peter Prickly in the animated series Recess. He also portrayed Stewart McBain in the 1990 Touchstone Pictures film Where the Heart Is, Chief Quimby in the 1999 film Inspector Gadget, Grandpa in Where the Red Fern Grows, Donald Newman in the ABC TV show For the People, Mike Mulcahey in the 2002 Touchstone Pictures film Moonlight Mile, and President George Richmond in My Date with the President's Daughter. He appeared in other ABC Studios TV shows.
