"Daddy Daughter Adventure Day" is the first segment of the seventeenth episode of Ariel. It was first made available on Disney+ on November 27, 2024 alongside "Rainbow Sea Caves" before making its television premiere on November 29, 2024.
Plot[]
Ariel is cleaning up her room and tells Flounder that today is Daddy Daughter Adventure Day. That is when she and King Triton do a bunch of fun things together. It's Ariel's turn to pick the fun stuff, and she's excited about it. Flounder then does his morning wiggle dance to shake off the sleepies to get ready before brushing his teeth. Meanwhile, Triton is sleeping when Ariel and Flounder wake him up and tell him what today is. Triton knows the day, and Ariel tells him what they'll do for the day. Triton states that when he was a young king, he only had royal playtime as a kid mainly in the palace or close to home, so he's not sure he'll like doing the things Ariel planned. Ariel tells Triton that he taught her that it's good to try new things, because she may like them, and it's Triton's turn. Flounder states that it's like an adventure, and Triton accepts.
Ariel and Flounder then serve Triton seaberry pancakes. He states that he didn't like seaberries as a kid, but Flounder tells him to give it a try. Ariel supports the idea, and when Triton gives it a try, he likes it and decides to have seaberry pancakes from now on. The next adventure is to build sandcastles. Triton uses his trident to make a shell, but Ariel tells him that they'll dig with their hands. She and Flounder show an example. Although Triton didn't do so as a kid, he gives it a try, and states that the sand feels squishy. Later, everyone finishes making their sandcastles. Triton's looks just like the palace, and states that he's glad he tried it. Triton then fixes his beard on his sandcastle.
The third adventure is the Gilly Gardens. Flounder sees Lucia and Fernie by the picnic area. Triton greets them, and they will be joining on the adventure. Ariel states that they'll do something they've never done before: sing together in front of a crowd. Triton is nervous about it, and tells the others to perform while he spectates. The other Atlanticans greet him. Ariel states that they are not giving up. She tells Triton the reasons she loves Daddy Daughter Adventure Days, and Triton states that he learns a lot from her. He then decides to join everyone else in singing in front of the crowd, since it's the last adventure of the day.
Ariel and her friends then sing about the benefits of trying something new to the crowd, and Triton states that he had fun and is glad he did so.
