"Daisy and the Missing Dream" is the first segment of the fifty-seventh episode of Mickey Mouse Funhouse. It premiered on March 8, 2024 alongside "Daisy's Big Picture" and is the first segment of the third episode of the third season.
Pluto has a speaking role in Daisy's dream in this episode and the first time he talked since the 1931Mickey Mouse cartoon, The Moose Hunt where he whispered, "kiss me" to Mickey. He also talked in the 1935 cartoon, Mickey's Kangaroo, but only in his thoughts. This episode is the only time Pluto talked in Mickey Mouse Funhouse.
Pluto was going to talk in the film version of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, where he would have been the main antagonist (as a nod to Chip and Dale serving as adversaries for him) instead of Sweet Pete (Peter Pan as a adult), but was still voiced by Will Arnett, like Sweet Pete in the final film, in which he was shown to speak "behind-the-scenes". Obviously, test audiences reacted negatively to this, so as a result, he was cut from the film entirely, which is the reason why the film ignores the existance of Chip and Dale's classic cartoons entirely.
This is also the first time Pluto has talked in 88 years as of March of 2024.
