Damian Pennwolf is a character mentioned in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, in the second season. He is Alex Russo's husband and the father of Billie. He is first mentioned in the season 2 finale, "The Wizard at the End of the World: Part Two", where he is revealed to be a former evil wizard and son of the main antagonist, Lord Morsus.
Background[]
Damian Pennwolf was born to Nicodemus Pennwolf and an unnamed woman. His father raised Damian to be evil just like him but no earlier than 2013, he met Alex Russo, one of the most powerful wizards in the world. The two quickly fell in love sometime after she had broken up with longtime boyfriend, Mason Greyback, and Alex helped Damian become a better man. Together, they turned against Nicodemus and Damian became a good man. The couple married and welcomed a daughter, whom they named Billie, but sent her off to WizTech for her own protection after knowing Nicodemus had become evil and known as Lord Morsus.
Knowing it was the only way to protect their daughter, Damian and Alex decided that she would cast a memory spell to forget that Billie was their daughter and protect her from the world. This memory spell caused Damian and Alex to forget they were married but she always knew she was somehow connected to the name, Pennwolf.
Role in the series[]
While Damian does not actually appear in the episode, he is first referenced when Alex recognizes the name Pennwolf but can't remember where she knows it from. She later finds a crest with a wolf on the front, along with a feather pen that would mean "Penwolf" on the front and finds a locket inside although she can't open it. However, later when she cries over Billie being forced by Lord Morsus to use her magic, the locket opens and reveals a memory. In the memory, it is revealed that Billie is Alex's daughter and everyone regains their memories from the last decade or so. It is then revealed that Alex fell in love with Damian, whose name is revealed sometime later by the Gossip Stone, and that Damian turned against his evil father for his love for Alex. However, while Alex sacrifices herself to protect Billie by pushing her father-in-law into a portal, it is unknown if Damian becomes aware of this or not.

- Damian gave Alex the enchanted locket, making him the second man to give her a magical necklace, the first was Mason Greyback, Alex's on-again-off-again boyfriend in the original series.
- His whereabouts are currently unknown as Alex cast a memory spell on everyone to protect Billie, although he likely got his memories back when everyone else did.
- He is the only known wizard to originally be bad, but later became good because of Alex, while other guys like Ronald Longcape Jr. and Dominic, did not reform.
- Although it has been not confirmed in the show yet, it has been confirmed that Alex and Damian are married because Alex is wearing a wedding ring in the flashback in the season 2 finale, and David Henrie also later confirmed it.[1]
- It is likely that Damian is of African-American descent, as that would explain where Billie's skin complexion originates. Given that his father is played by a Caucasian actor, it is possible that Damian may be mixed-race, with whomever his mother is being African-American. It is also unknown who will play him if he is ever seen in the series.
