"Dance Dad Revolution" is the second segment of the thirtieth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, The Ghost and Molly McGee.
Synopsis[]
Pete uses social media to bring attention to important issues but gets swept up in internet fame.
Plot[]
Pete is trying to explain to the mayor that they need to ban plastic bags so that they can be more eco-friendly, but the mayor only seems interested in what is on his phone. In the ghost realm, Scratch is informed by the Ghost Council that the dance hall needs to be cleaned after the frightmares frightened the bouncer and messed the placed up, a job that they task him with as it was technically his fault the frightmares were released. Pete attempts to make an online video that explains his issue, but it is over three hours long. Molly comes by and helps her father out by creating another, shorter, video. This time, depicting him explaining his issue while dancing. The video blows up with people around Brighton listening to Pete and decide to do their part.
Inspired, Scratch employs a similar tactic in the ghost realm by teaching the other ghosts a "dance" move that is actually just cleaning up and has them do his work for him. Pete begins playing into being a dance star and makes more videos teaching people how to clean up, via numerous dance moves. He later gets help from a professional dancer named JR who proceeds to take his dancing in a whole new direction by moving away from the issues that he had initially set up. In the ghost realm, ghosts begin to make their own dance moves that begin to undo everything that Scratch has been trying to employ, ironically making things messy again.
Everyone in Brighton begins to miss the point of Pete's original goal with Patty openly voicing her disgust over nothing getting cleaned. To combat this, Molly, Sharon and Darryl hold an intervention with Pete, but when this fails to do anything, they launch into their second plan which is to get their friends and neighbors to communicate with Pete via dance videos, including Mayor Brunson who promises to listen more. This actually works with Pete deciding to give up on dancing altogether and letting JR go who scoffs and leaves him for Patty. In the ghost realm, Scratch is once again forced to clean up his own mess. He admits that he likes the dance he invented, until ectoplasm gets him dirty again.
