Dante is a character who was cut from the 2023Disney/Pixar animated feature film Elemental. He was going to appear in the film, but was cut from the final version of the film, due to the finalized version focusing on Ember's internal conflict more than Dante.
In the deleted scene "Dante Challenge" included in the Blu-ray and Digital releases of Elemental, it showcased a scene where Bernie introduced Dante to Ember who came straight from Fireland all alone. Upon approaching Ember, Bernie told Ember that Dante needed to find a place to live, although there were no apartments available for him to live, which was the reason why he needed to stay in Firetown. Ember began to find a way to help Dante adapt his life in Element City while Wade saw an apartment in his friend's building for Dante to rent, albeit not mentioning at a specific location. Throughout the montage, Wade and Ember began guiding Dante to help him adapt here he attempted to accentuate Wade who had a big heart for Dante. Upon building a new home at Firetown, Dante became satisfied of his apartment, but realized there were flowers outside the apartment which kept growing, making him allergic to flowers, while Bernie told Ember that Firetown would be the only place for fire elements to Firetown. Ember planned on trying to figure out on how Dante could live his better life in Element City, only for Dante to deny, which Bernie suggested Dante to share a room with Bon, much to Bernie telling him that he might help Dante settle in his new home.[1]
According to story artist Nira Liu, the reason why the scene was cut was because the finalized version of the film focused more on Ember and Bernie's rivalry, which was completely reworked into Ember's internal conflict, resulting in Dante being deleted from the final version of the film.
