Dantooine is a planet that appears in the Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels. It is located in the Outer Rim Territories within the Galactic Republic and later the Galactic Empire. Sometime after the downfall of the Empire and the death of Palpatine; it can be assumed that Dantooine became a New Republic world.
Due to the fact that the ghost crew never landed on the planet Dantooine, it is difficult to know what type of planet it is, however, based on what has been seen; is likely that Dantooine is a jungle or forest planet.
At some point during the Clone Wars Jedi Master Mace Windu led a battle on Dantooine; however, many of his troopers were injured. Mace's forces sent out a distress signal and awaited a delivery of medical supplies from Padawans Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee.
After the Clone Wars ended, the Galactic Republic fell, and Dantooine came under the control of the Galactic Empire, prior to the Galactic Civil War, former Imperial Senator and rebel leader Mon Mothma made arrangements for the rebel fleet to rendezvous above Dantooine. She wanted to unify the disparate rebel cells and factions into an Alliance that will restore the Republic. Above Dantooine, Mon gave an impassioned HoloNet speech urging the galaxy to rise up into a rebellion against the Empire. Shortly later, the rebel fleet converged above Dantooine.
During the early days of the Galactic Civil War, the Rebel Alliance used the planet as their base of operations, however, by the time of the Battle of Scarif, that base had been abandoned, and the Rebels had established their new headquarters on the jungle moon of Yavin 4; likely because the Empire was coming close to discovering their headquarters on Dantooine.
- Dantooine Jedi Temple: A Jedi Temple is hidden on Dantooine; it is one of the few Jedi Temples that were not destroyed by the Galactic Empire in the Jedi Purge or the Galactic Civil War.
- Dantooine base: The Rebel Alliance had established a headquarters on Dantooine, however, by the time of the events of A New Hope, they abandon the base of operations; likely because the Empire was coming close to discovering their headquarters.
