David James Shaughnessy is a British theatre and television director, producer, actor, and voice actor. He is best known for providing several character voices in the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth, such as Sir Didymus, The Hat, one of the Four Guards, and various goblins. He is also well-known for voicing Ignatious Starkey in the Fox animated series Peter Pan & the Pirates (with Tim Curry as Captain Hook). Other acting credits include Danger UXB (recurring as Lt. Tim Carter-Brown), Q.E.D., The Consultant, Minder, and Newhart.
For Disney, he voiced Cumberlayne Aresko, Taskmaster Grint, and Refugee #1 in Star Wars Rebels,[1] Absolem and Uilleam in the 2010 Alice in Wonderland video game, Heathcliff in the 2014 Disney animated feature film Big Hero 6 and Big Hero 6: The Series, Ulysses Klaw in Avengers Assemble and Marcus Brody in the 2024 video game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
He is also the younger brother of Charles Shaughnessy.
