"Dear Santa" is a song from the Disney Read-Along version of the Little Critter book, Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad, the Disney Records album, The Twelve Days of Christmas and the VHS, Disney Sing Along Songs: The Twelve Days of Christmas.
In the Twelve Days of Christmas version of this song, Huey, Dewey, and Louie ask for everyone else to get presents that benefit them and a lot of things they would want such as toys, comics, and records. Meanwhile, Goofy offers Santa a map and a flashlight to guide him to the cabin and he, Minnie (who has prepared the milk and cookies and the list), and Mickey prepare to send the box to Santa (which actually does not occur normally).
Lyrics[]
Dear Santa, I've been good
I've done everything a good kid should
So here's just a little list
Don't think there's anything I've missed
Mom and Dad would really like
A brand new, silver ten speed bike
My sister would like a basketball
I guess she's tired of playing with dolls
The baby, although she can't talk,
Wants a skateboard for when she walks
And me, oops! I almost forgot
But really, I don't need a lot...
Just some dinosaur models,
Five video games!
An engine and caboose
And thirty-five trains!
Comics, records,
And baseball cards!
Football, a helmet,
And some shoulder guards!
But Santa, no wool sweaters, please!
They make me itch and they make me sneeze!
Santa, here's a map for you
I've circled my house in red and blue
Bring a flashlight so you can park
All your reindeer in the dark
Oh, dear Santa, I've been so good
I've done everything a good kid should
So here's my little list again
Would you like to get a pen?
Ready?
Some dinosaur models,
Five video games!
An engine, caboose
And thirty-five trains!
Comics, records,
And baseball cards!
Football, helmet,
And some shoulder guards!
Santa, one more thing before I'm through...
Thanks a lot, and Merry Christmas
To you!
Thanks a lot, and Merry Christmas
To you!
Merry Christmas, Santa!
Huey: Come on guys, we'd better write our letters to Santa Claus.
Louie: Yeah!
Dewey: Good idea!
Huey: Yay!
Huey, Louie, Dewey: Dear Santa, we've been good
We've done everything good kids should
So here's just a little list
Don't think there's anything we've missed
Huey: Unca Scrooge would really like
Three brand new, silver ten speed bikes
Dewey: (Yeah!)
Louie: And Minnie, she wants a basketball
(Dewey chuckles)
So she can lend it to us all
Huey: Unca Donald needs some camping gear
To take us on our trip this year
Louie: As for us, Oops! Well, we almost forgot
Huey, Louie, Dewey: Really, we don't need a lot... uh-uh!
Huey: Just some dinosaur models,
Ten video games!
An engine and caboose between
Thirty-five trains!
Comics,
Records,
And baseball cards!
Three footballs,
Helmets,
And shoulder guards!
Huey, Dewey, and Louie: And Santa,
No wool sweaters, please!
Huey: They make us itch
Louie: And they make us sneeze -- AH CHOO!
Goofy: Santa, here's a map for you
I've circled my house in red and blue
Bring a flashlight so you can park
All your reindeer in the dark
Minnie: Dear Santa, we've been so good
Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie: We've done everything good folks should
Minnie: I'll leave out milk and cookies, too
Oh, by the way
Here's our list for you!
Goofy: I'd like a musical instrument
That's easy to play
Minnie: A polka dot umbrella
For a rainy day
Mickey: Some flowers for Minnie
Red roses will do
A bone for Pluto
Nah, make it two!
Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie: And Santa
One more thing before we're through...
Thanks a lot, and Merry Christmas
To you!
Thanks a lot, and Merry Christmas
To you!
Louie: Yeah, thanks a lot, Santa. Merry Christmas!
Trivia[]
- The Disney Records version has Huey saying "I'll say", but in the video version, Louie sneezes to transition to Goofy offering items to Santa.
