Gladstone Gander visits his uncle, Scrooge, and tells him his luck helps him out in any situation, as Scrooge doesn't believe in luck. Magica De Spell decides to use Gander to steal Scrooge's dime since he was lucky. She tricked Gander into being on a game show when she hypnotized him to believe so in order to steal Scrooge's dime. Magica would thank Gander for stealing the dime and led to Gander's reign of bad luck. Bad luck doesn't only go to Gander, but also to Scrooge. Scrooge is enraged when the cause of all his troubles is Magica having the dime. They would eventually go to Magica's lair in which she's close to perfecting her spell of power. Scrooge uses Gander's bad luck to get his dime back and when Scrooge gets his dime back, Gladstone's good luck comes back with Magica once again frustrated that she lost the dime again.
