Description[]

Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is a vacation rental accommodation that’s part of the far-reaching Disney brand of timeshares. This property is on a secluded 15-acre (6.1 ha) island in the Shelter Cove Harbour area of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

The mid-island resort has an intentionally rustic theme and this property very much caters to kids. The rooms, grounds & location clearly accommodate a family crowd.

The rooms are spacious, clean and have kitchens and balconies. "South Carolina Lowcountry" is the theme & style of Disney’s Hilton Head Island resort. The grounds are well-kept and modern, with amenities that include hammocks and grills.

Disney Hilton Head is top-heavy with activities for children, including nature programs, campfires, magic shows, “Kids Night Out”, crabbing, art, swimming pool & pool games, biking, kayaking, tennis and more things to do.

The Disney Hilton Head resort is on Hilton Head’s Broad Creek, which is technically a land locked tidal marsh. A shuttle bus transports guests to the Disney Beach House in Palmetto Dunes, which is about a mile-and-a-half away. There guests enjoy a private swimming pool with bathrooms and a snack shop right on the Atlantic Ocean.

The resort does not have a full service restaurant, but there are two spots to eat: The main resort building and at The Beach Club. Both serve lunch, however at the main resort it serves breakfast. Adjacent Shelter Cove has a nice mix of restaurants and a supermarket. HarbourFest, now in its 19th season, runs every Tuesday night from June 5 - August 21 at Shelter Cove Marina, featuring arts & crafts, live entertainment, and fireworks at sunset. There is a special HarbourFest celebration on July 4. In addition, "Summertime at Shelter Cove" features five nights of family entertainment by Shannon Tanner, who plays two shows per night.

From 1996 to 2021, the resort's mascot was a golden retriever named Shadow, who was a stray that roamed the site during construction that ended up being adopted by the resort. Accompanied by a storyteller/musician character named B'Lou Crabbe, the duo entertained guests until the resort shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the actor playing B'Lou being put on hiatus for 20 months until being unceremoniously let go on November 10, 2021 as part of company-wide entertainment cuts. Shadow's dog house was removed from the resort not long after.
