DisneySea Transit Steamer Line is an attraction at Tokyo DisneySea at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan. It is a fleet of steamers which carries passengers to one of the park's three "port-of-calls" (themed lands).
Overview[]
These boats, which recreate the small steamers which sailed the lakes and rivers of the Northeastern United States from the later half of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, have paddle wheels on the left and the right sides powered by a steam engine which propel the boat while churning up the water. The boats have low-lying decks for easy boarding and allow passengers to enjoy a relaxing voyage while taking in the diverse scenery that Tokyo DisneySea has to offer from the water.
Docks[]
The DisneySea Transit Steamer Line has three individually-themed docks located in Mediterranean Harbor, American Waterfront and Lost River Delta, each of which has matching settings to enhance the atmosphere of the cruise. The dock at the Mediterranean Harbor, which resembles a South American port town at the turn of the 20th century, is a loading point for wine and olives from the winery and olive mill.
The dock at the American Waterfront is a recreation of those which once dotted New England's tranquil fishing village Cape Cod, and features a wharf which used to ship products from the fish cannery as well as workbenches once used as solt cod, the region's local speciality.
The dock at Lost River Delta is a step back in time to the jungle of the Caribbean coast of Central America circa 1930s. The dock is a two-storied structure with walls made of old wood and rusty galvanized iron capped by a thatched roof. Descending from the entrance on the second storey to the boarding platform below, guests encounter wares and freight bound for the hinterland.
Voyage[]
The DisneySea Transit Steamer Line travels clockwise around the waters surrounding the park. Guests have a choice of three courses: from Mediterranean Harbor to Lost River Delta or vice versa (Lost River Delta to Mediterranean Harbor), or American Waterfront travelling via Lost River Delta back to American Waterfront (docking in between).
The DisneySea Transit Steamer Line links the Mediterranean Harbor and American Waterfront located close to the entrance of the park, and Lost River Delta which is located farthest from the entrance, thereby providing guests with an efficient means of transport with which to travel around the immense grounds of Tokyo DisneySea.
