Gameplay[]
Star Smash was presented in the style of a fighting game set in various levels inspired by various Disney and Pixar franchises. The game is presented in the style of a "Star Ball" game, where the player assumes the role of a group of protagonists known as the Red Braves (consisting of Yuu, Shin, Kohya, and Kei) and are equipped with their own cards who must fight enemies in Disney and Pixar-inspired levels. The main gameplay shows the player launching projectiles by tapping with good timing to defeat waves of enemies that appear on screen where players must defeat the enemies before they get a chance to attack as indicated via timer. After the player's turn, the remaining enemies then attack the player, causing damage to their health meter. The effects caused by special attacks via cards used to fight off hordes of enemies depend on which enemies the players are fighting against - whether weak, strong, or ineffective, which the player must select their own cards wisely to know which enemies appear onscreen providing advantages or disadvantages against enemies of a certain element, giving the player an advice on what to do whenever they face tougher enemies in battle.
Additionally throughout battles, the player must pay attention to the health meter located at the bottom of the screen where health is depleted when enemies attack the player and the round ends if the health meter is completely depleted depending on the player's stamina level which could be upgraded as well as the cards which can help player complete tougher levels.
