Project Follow-Up

This project and progress on the project will be monitored by KeybladeSpyMaster and other editors from the Kingdom Hearts Wiki in cooperation with editors and administrators from the DisneyWiki. Following are updates and notices regarding the project.

Update I

By KeybladeSpyMaster 23:50, May 19, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, guys! The project is up and ready to go! For now, I've listed all the Kingdom Hearts-original characters, the Square Enix characters, and all the characters in the worlds that appeared in the original Kingdom Hearts. Let's try and set a goal to have them reviewed at least by June 6th. Okay? Thanks!

Update II

By KeybladeSpyMaster 02:54, May 28, 2014 (UTC)

Hey guys! Great job on starting this. I'm going to be checking some of the pages that have been completed to be sure they're no longer using copied content (so far, none seem to be in that situation). Good work!

Regarding changes, from here on, the members of the Organization will be covered in the same section/page as their original selves. I think for uniformity, they should be covered on the page of the original persona, if it applies. Which it does for Xigbar/Braig, Xaldin/Dilan, Vexen/Even, Lexaeus/Alaeus, Zexion/Ienzo, Saix/Isa, and Axel/Lea. Xemnas, Roxas, and Naminé (since she's a nobody) will retain their separate pages.

Another minor detail is that in all articles, the full name of the game should be given in the leading sentence. It should be Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, not Dream Drop Distance. Minor detail, however. It should be something changed as the article is written; I'm not asking you guys to look through all the articles and check that this detail is being followed.

SilverFlight has begun removing galleries of members of the Organization that no longer have their own pages. Since the images should probably still be used to illustrate the members, I propose that the images be posted in Organization XIII/Gallery and their respective game galleries. I will set up the page, and then you guys can help put in all the images. Remember: this only applies to characters who have been moved to the List of Kingdom Hearts characters page. In other words, Roxas's images should still stay in Roxas/Gallery.

That's all for this week! Keep up the good work guys! I'll post a new list of characters to the Disney Characters section later this week to cover worlds introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. Remember the goal is to have the first list reviewed, if not rewritten, by June 6th. That's next Friday! Thanks!

Update III

By KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 18:10, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, guys! I've updated the project with the characters from worlds introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. I'm sorry I took another week, but things got a little busy with graduation and such (I'm out, yes!). This new wave includes characters that appear in the worlds in later games, just as before. It's not as big a list. Great job on getting most of the first list done. We didn't meet our goal, but we came really close, especially with all the Disney characters. For now, let's put this next wave of articles for review by the end of the month. I've been watching the wiki, and I realize that you guys are dealing right now with the articles from Maleficent, which is why I'm giving a full month to do this next wave. Also, let's make it a goal to rewrite the reviewed articles from the first wave by July 18, 2014, that's a month and a half from today.

So in summary: Rewrite the reviewed articles from Wave 1 (Kingdom Hearts worlds) by July 18, and review the Wave 2 of articles (Kingdom Hearts II worlds) by July 4.

Update IV

By KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 20:51, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't checked in, we've been really busy over at the Kingdom Hearts Wiki with all new changes to the main page, the community portal, and many community-themed projects. I encourage you all to check it out!

As for the project, I've added the worlds that have pages here. I think I've listed them all today, but if there're any I missed, feel free to list them. Let's also push to finish the characters listed. I didn't list any new ones, because the last wave isn't finished. So let's try and reviewing all the pages listed by August 25, okay! Thanks so much for your efforts, guys!

Update V

By KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 16:18, September 6, 2014 (UTC)

Hey guys, it's been a while since I last checked in. We at the Kingdom Hearts Wiki held a Roundtable meeting yesterday, where we discussed (among other things) this project. As of yesterday, the Kingdom Hearts Wiki, as a wiki, will no longer pressure for the rewriting of any articles on the DisneyWiki. However, anyone from this wiki or the Kingdom Hearts Wiki that is willing to help out with this project (since the DisneyWiki still wants to remove copied content anyways) is welcome to do so, and is encouraged to do so. I've updated the project, but basically, the Kingdom Hearts Wiki will only ask that the copied pages and images be attributed to the Kingdom Hearts Wiki using the {{KHWiki}} and {{KHWikiImage}} templates. This applies, in this project, to any article above that is under the "Reviewed and needs Rewriting" and the "Needs Reviewing" sections. Articles under "Completed" do not need the attribution (since they're supposed to have been rewritten, and will no longer have content from the Kingdom Hearts Wiki). As for images, all Kingdom Hearts galleries need to have the {{KHWiki:Gallery}} template. The KHWikiImage template is added to any images that were copied from the Kingdom Hearts Wiki. The best way to tell if the images were copied is if they still have our naming schema, which is generally [[File:Name (Number, if applicable) (Game code).png]]. For example: File:Kairi's Heart Within Sora 01 KH.png or File:Disney Castle KHII.png. I'll soon add characters from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, which I believe are the only remaining characters. I, personally, still plan on being available to help out with this project and rewriting any articles that need to be rewritten. I'll also be recruiting/messaging those of you who appear under Category:Users who are Kingdom Hearts fans to help out. Please, guys, we really need your help!

As for what's currently been assigned, the World articles have not been completed. It'd be great if we could try and get those rewritten by October 6, 2014. Thanks guys!

Update V.I

By TheFifteenthMember 20:32, September 8, 2014 (UTC)

If I can add to what KeybladeSpyMaster said, I'd like to note that there are a huge amount of unattributed KHWiki images that are not being used on any page so they are orphaned. If not deleted since they are not being used, they must at least be attributed with the appropriate template so could a couple of people start looking through the Unused Images and deal with the KHW images there? Also, there are another lot of images that are only being used in the userspace. If you know that your userspace contains many KHW images, could you please check them and deal with them if they are unattributed? And remember pass the word on to others!

Update VI

By KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 15:21, September 25, 2014 (UTC)

Minor update, I've divided the project into two stages to fit what is now the objective of the Kingdom Hearts Wiki. In addition, I've added some of the articles that need to be attributed to the first stage, so that we can cross them out as they're attributed. Do remember that if the articles have been rewritten (if they're in the "Completed" sections), they do not need attribution. Thanks guys!

Update VII

By KeybladeSpyMaster (talk) 17:45, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

This project is going to be seeing a restructuring as I make an effort to make it more manageable and less....intimidating. Stay tuned for updates!

Project Discussion

Guys, I really think that attributing plagiarised work should be prioritized before rewriting plagiarised work. Currently, galleries, pages and a *huge* mass of files still have copied work that remains unattributed without the "KHWiki" template on it. According to the Creative Commons law, copied work must have *clear* attribution so as it stands now, the Disney Wiki is still acting illegally due to work that is not attributed to the KHWiki. Rewriting pages is good and great, but making sure the Wiki is accordance with the law has to come first. Thus, I place an emphasis and urge editors to sift through all the KHWiki pages, galleries and files to add the KHWiki template where necessary. TheFifteenthMember 00:17, August 28, 2014 (UTC)
