The District Attorney[1] is a character featured in the 1935 Silly Symphony short "Who Killed Cock Robin?". He is the attorney in charge during the proceedings against a number of suspects accused of "killing" Cock Robin.
Background[]
Personality[]
This parrot serves as the district attorney (hence his title) who works in a courtroom bound to the law by Oliver Owl. He is shown to be extremely strict to witnesses if they are guilty with Cock Robin, to which if the witness themself has no memory about their involvement with Cock Robin, they would be sent to jail while the Attorney himself would deem them guilty, especially when it comes to trying to find a culprit involved with Cock Robin.
Physical appearance[]
The District Attorney is a medium-sized parrot with light green plumage all over his body. He is also shown to have a yellow cheek on both sides of his head with oval-shaped eyes sticking out as well as a pale brown beak. He wears a black lawyer outfit coat around his body with a red bowtie for his neck with a white collar sticking out. He also has a pair of pale brown legs as well as a black tail whose undersides are blue.
Role in the short[]
The Attorney is first seen placing a witness on the "Witness Box" in the courtroom during the "Criminal Court No. 1" event while Oliver Owl asks someone who is behind the "killing" of Cock Robin. He approaches the blackbird and asks him if he was the one behind this, which he doesn't know if he really did, just before the Blue-Jay Cops send him to jail. The Attorney later approaches Legs Sparrow telling him if he is guilty for his involvement with Cock Robin, which Legs denies, just before the cops take him away, followed by a cuckoo placed onto the nest. The District Attorney and Oliver Owl later approach the cuckoo, telling him if he is the real culprit. The two get no response from the cuckoo, just as neither the Attorney, Oliver, nor the Jury knows who really "killed" Cock Robin.
Just as Jenny Wren suggests to the judge to hang all the suspects who "killed" Cock Robin, the District Attorney tells the judge that the three suspects he interacted with are guilty for the "killing" of Cock Robin, which the latter tells him to hang them all. Although not seen again afterwards, the Attorney's plan to hang all the suspects was cancelled when Dan Cupid was the real culprit who shot Cock Robin with an arrow, revealing that he is not dead but rather Cupid himself trying to help Cock Robin fall in love with Jenny.
