The Santa Clauses[]

Doc Martin makes two appearances in the first episode, "Good to Ho."

When Scott Calvin is concerned about losing his magic and his weight, he goes to see Doc Martin for help. Doc Martin examines Scott and breaks the news that he's lost weight. Scott asks if he's dying, but Doc Martin tells him he isn't. She asks Scott if there are any issues he has, like his magic. Scott tells her it isn't true, and asks Doc Martin how he can lose pounds. Doc Martin explains that losing his magic can be caused by children not believing in or needing Santa anymore, but it's physical. She also explains that if it's physical, he'll "look ripped." With these words, Scott decides to take action and lose weight. With that, Doc Martin wishes him luck.

Later, after Scott loses some weight, he goes to see Doc Martin once again, who examines him and explains that he lost ten more pounds. Scott explains that his appearance is frightening the elves and that he hasn't made toys in ten years. Doc Martin says it should be a delightful surprise for all the children. She asks about Scott's Christmas spirit, and Scott explains that saying "Christmas to all" is problematic. With that, Doc Martin checks Scott's magic with a measuring tape, making it clear that he's able to fly before asking him to let her know if he has any more issues. Scott reminds her of his favorite part of his checkup, and Doc Martin gives him two lollipops to test his eating habits.
