Synopsis[]
On "Show Your Special Talent Day", Donald teaches Donald Jr. steps to a dance move.
Plot[]
The episode begins in the Clubhouse with Mickey greeting the viewers when Goofy and Pluto show up for "Show Your Special Talent Day". This is when their friends gather at Mickey Park to show off their talents. Goofy praises it when Donald shows up with a little duck, which Goofy calls Donald Jr. Donald mentions that when he grows up, he'll be just like him. Donald and Donald Jr. will dance and sing for Show Your Special Talent Day. While Donald does so, Donald Jr. needs more practice. Mickey decides to help with that, and goes to the Mousekedoer to pick up his Mouseketools: the Clubhouse rescue truck, a ball of yarn, a giant marshmallow, and the Mystery Mouseketool.
Goody then searches the closet and retrieves his set for his magic act, which he plans to make a beautiful rose appear. Goofy instead summons his stinky polka-dotted galosh. While Goofy leaves to perfect his act, Mickey decides to play his ukulele to help Donald Jr. learn the dance. However, one of the strings falls off, so Mickey calls Toodles for the ball of yarn, used for the string. Mickey plays the ukulele again, and Donald Jr. gets better at the dance.
Music then blares from outside, and it turns out that Minnie, Daisy, and Hilda Hippo are practicing their roller-skating act. Everyone likes it, and Minnie and Daisy are introduced to Donald Jr., who is being taught to dance and sing. Donald Jr. is then provided his roller-skating gear, and Mickey puts him in the rink. Hilda then crashes into Donald Jr., and the two skate uncontrollably. So, Daisy calls Toodles for the giant marshmallow, which is used to stop Hilda and Donald Jr. and give them a soft landing.
While Minnie, Daisy, and Hilda practice some more, Mickey and Donald continue to help Donald Jr. learn the steps to the dance. Mickey mentions that learning takes time and lots of practice. Pete then shows up and is delighted to see Donald Jr. Pete also doesn't know which talent he'll show. Donald then tosses Pete bowling pins, which Pete juggles with while singing about the different talents he can do. Ducks then arrive instead of geese, and Pete leaves to practice some more.
Mickey decides to invite the ducks for Show Your Special Talent Day, and Pluto pulls the lever to reveal a big washtub, which the ducks can swim in. Since it's empty, Mickey calls Toodles for the rescue truck, whose hose fills the tub with water. Donald Jr. still wants to practice some more, and is taught by Mickey and Donald the dance steps. Toodles then arrives, telling them to arrive at Mickey Park to show their talents.
Once there, Clarabelle Cow welcomes everyone to Show Your Special Talent Day. She is delighted to see Donald Jr. Goofy and Donald try to raise the curtain but get flung at the top of the stage. So, Mickey calls Toodles for the Mystery Mouseketool, which is the Glove Balloon. Mickey and Donald Jr. use it to rescue Goofy and Donald. The show then begins, and everyone shows and perfects their special talents, with Donald and Donald Jr.'s being the best, making it a success. Mickey thanks the viewers for teaching Donald and Donald Jr. practice their song and dance before the gang and Donald Jr. return to the Clubhouse, where they do the Hot Dog Dance. The episode ends with them exiting the Clubhouse as it disappears and Mickey waving goodbye to the viewers.
