Dreams That Soar was a nighttime drone show featured at Disney Springs. The show opened on May 24, 2024 and highlighted Disney moments as told by drones.

History[]

One March 21, 2024, it was announced that a new drone show would run nightly at Disney Springs in summer of that year. It was also confirmed that the show would be performed above Lake Buena Vista on the West Side of Disney Springs with a schedule from May 24 to September 2. The show was revealed with several other highlights at the Walt Disney World Resort such as Tiana's Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom, the grand opening of CommuniCore Hall & Plaza at Epcot, and well as 30th anniversary celebrations of The Lion King at Disney's Animal Kingdom.[1] Prior to this, Disney began testing drones earlier in 2024, following the popularity of drone shows at Disneyland Paris, which used about 500 drones to recreate classic moments from the Main Street Electrical Parade, which was titled "Disney Electrical Sky Parade". Additionally, Disney World previously hosted a five-minute limited time drone show titled "Starbright Holidays" for the 2016 holiday season featuring collaboration between Intel and the Shooting Star drone product.[2]

On May 15, 2024, a sneak peek was revealed showcasing footage of what would be seen in the show and that the show would be presented by AT&T. It was also revealed in a test session of how the skies at Disney Springs would include large-than-life images of Disney characters formed by drones such as those from Peter Pan, Dumbo, WALL-E, Big Hero 6, Star Wars, and many others. It was also revealed that an original song would be created for the show, followed by more lights and speakers being installed in preparation for the show.[3][4]

Dreams That Soar was a nighttime show where visitors could experience Disney moments as retold by drones recreating moments from classic Disney stories. The show performed at Lake Buena Vista at the West Side of Disney Springs where guests could experience Disney classics retold through the use of drones so they could relive their moments from Disney classics, such as showcasing images of Baymax, the Death Star, Peter Pan, Dumbo, WALL-E, EVE, or the Orange Bird.
