Echo is an upcoming Disney+ original series, set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe centering on Echo.[1] The series is a spin-off from Hawkeye. It will be released in 2023.[2]
Synopsis
The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.[3]

Production
In March 2021, Variety reported that Marvel Studios was developing a TV series featuring Echo, with Etan Cohen and Emily Bowen-Cohen attached to write and executive produce the show.[1]
On June 2, 2021, it was reported that the series is scheduled to start filming on January 2022.[6]
On July 5, 2021, it was reported that the working title of the series was "Whole Branzino".[7]
On August 13, 2021, it was reported that the series was scheduled to start production in February 2022 and that Marvel Studios had begun a casting search for the series.[8]
Filming officially began on April 4, 2022, in Atlanta.[9]
On April 5, 2022, it was revealed that the series would be released in 2023.[2]
Casting
On March 14, 2022, it was reported that Graham Greene joined the cast of the series in an undisclosed role.[5]
On April 5, 2022, it was revealed that Vincent D'Onofrio and Charlie Cox would be reprising their roles as Kingpin and Daredevil.[2]
On May 17, 2022, Marvel revealed that Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning and Zahn McClarnon had additionally joined the cast.[3]
Directing
On March 19, 2022, it was reported that Sydney Freeland would serve as a director for the series.[10]
On May 17, 2022, Marvel revealed that Catriona McKenzie would also be a director for the series.[3]
