Edward Vincent "Ed" Sullivan was an American writer and television host, best known as the presenter of The Toast of the Town, currently known under its second name, The Ed Sullivan Show.

Walt Disney appeared as a special guest star on The Toast on the Town on February 8, 1953 to promote his then-recent Disney film, Peter Pan. On the show, he tells his life story with help from Donald Duck and all of Disney's characters from Mickey Mouse up to Peter Pan were covered on this show. To prepare for this show, Ed Sullivan flew to the West Coast and spent 3 days on the Disney lot gathering material including audio recordings and films. He was also spoofed by Genie in Aladdin.
