Synopsis[]
King's quest to uncover his past leads to shocking revelations and horrifying truths.
Plot[]
Luz is still shaken up by what she saw in Belos' mind, and after a while, she finally tells Eda, King, and Hooty what she saw. Lilith also shows up after hearing the news. Everyone cannot believe what the Day of Unity will bring. But it is also clear they have to stop Belos, but how they do not know. Hooty, so excited to see Lilith, coughs everything he has eaten, including King's letter from that stranger he met a month ago. It also comes with a map to an island where King can meet a warrior clan who can help tell him who he is. King thinks they could be his family, and the key against Emperor Belos. Luz is up for it, but not Eda. Luz knows too much, and Belos will most likely come for her. Eda insists that she and King must find a safe place to hideout. Lilith, surprisingly, sides with Luz and King. She points out that this quest will take Luz and King will far away from The Boiling Isles and Emperor Belos. And to insure their safety, Lilith volunteers Hooty to accompany them. And Luz can ask Salty to take them. Eda is hesitant, but reluctantly agrees to let Luz and King go. But after Luz, King, and Hooty leave to pack for their trip, Eda breaks down into tears. She is scared for her kids' safety, and what they are dealing with is much bigger than she imagined. Eda also blames herself for getting Luz caught up in Belos' affairs. Lilith comforts her crying sister. She tells her they still have a week before the Day of Unity, which gives them enough time to find a way to keep Luz and King safe.
Later, Luz, King, and Hooty have headed out to sea with their old friend Salty, who is running the ship single-handedly after his crew deserted in response to quitting service to the Golden Guard. After following the map from King's letter, they reach an island far away from the Boiling Isles. It is also a giant finger, but it is not one from the Titan. After Luz, King, and Hooty set foot on the island, they activate a portal that sends them to the other side of the Demon Realm, where more Titan like skeletons exist as islands. Upon arrival, they are greeted by Tarak, a demon who looks like King. He is not King's father, but is delighted to meet him. Tarak takes Luz, King, and Hooty to his village, where they meet more demons who look like King. There are a cult of Titan trappers, under oath to protect the world from giant monsters of death and destruction. However, not many of them have actually met a live Titan, as they are all assumed to be extinct. But their patron god, the Grand Huntsman, says one still remains. And for all these years they have been preparing themselves for when they get the chance to hunt the secret beast. Whatsmore, Tarak offers King to join their clan, which he happily accepts. They also agree to help them fight against Belos. But they cannot guarantee any solid promises, as it is up to their elder, the wisest hunter of all and the only one who had ever spoken to the Grand Huntsman, Bill.
While King gets to know his people, Luz and Hooty meet with Bill. Luz tells him about their situation on the Boiling Isles and hopes he and his army can help them stop Emperor Belos. Bill agrees to help, but also notes that Belos' threats are nothing compared to what a live Titan can do. According to him, Titans have ravenous appetites, and terrible cries. Even their babies act like monarchs. Bill once saw the last Titan before it disappeared. It gave off a hateful roar that went "weh". Bill and his army of Titan trappers have been searching all these years for the last Titan, in the hopes that its power will free the Huntsman from his prison. But they have had no luck. Bill's descriptions of Titans sound a lot like King to Luz, which makes her suspicious of Bill and the Titan trappers. Her suspicions are quickly confirmed when Hooty discovers a shrine dedicated to the Collector, and it is filled with skulls that look like King's. Bill even reveals that he is actually a witch disguised as a Titan. Part of their plan to lure the last Titan in their hopes of slaying it and free the Huntsman, earning their way to becoming Titan slayers; he also assumes King is wearing a costume.
Realizing the danger King is in, Luz and Hooty quickly head off to rescue him before anyone else finds out who he really is. But Bill quickly figures out who King is upon hearing him say "weh". He has Tarak bring him to the tablet where the Grand Huntsman is imprisoned. They give King a torch and instruct him to light it up. When he does, he suddenly hears a voice. Then they cover his head, and Bill is about to stab him from behind, when he is suddenly lifted in the air and thrown in to the other trappers. It is Luz and Hooty, who are invisible and rescue King. They try to explain the hunters' intentions, but King refuses to believe it. But they convince him after they reveal that he is a Titan. Suddenly, the Titan trappers show up and give chase. Hooty does his best to fend them off, but is quickly brought down. When Tarak tries to attack Luz and Hooty, King jumps on him and knocks off his skull, revealing to be a witch as well. In fact, they are all witches. They are about to finish them off when Bill accidentally reveals that he plans to have all the glory for himself, causing everyone to question him. This distracts them long enough for Luz, King, and Hooty to reach the portal and return to their side of the world. However, the Titan trappers are also about to use the portal. So King uses his powerful roar to destroy it.
As they return to the Boiling Isles, King is struggling to come to terms with who he actually is now; a Titan just like the one that is the Boiling Isles. Meanwhile, Coven Scouts surround the Owl House and prepare to capture everyone inside.
