Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. was an American actor and voice actor, who, for Disney, voiced Mace Malone in Gargoyles, Dr. Denton P. Huggarman in Mighty Ducks, and Judge Dimsdale De Vil in 101 Dalmatians: The Series. He also portrayed Aristotle Bolt in Beyond Witch Mountain.

Zimbalist was born in 1918 in New York City and regularly attended the Episcopal Church. Zimbalist boarded at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire, taking part in school plays. He briefly attended Yale University but was expelled, reinstated, and expelled a second time on account of low grades. He moved back to New York City in 1936 to work for NBC radio where he had small on-air roles as well as presenting shows. He furthered his acting training at Neighborhood Playhouse before serving in the United States Army during World War II.

Following the war, Zimbalist returned to New York and made his Broadway acting debut in The Rugged Path, starring Spencer Tracy, before transitioning into film and television. His notable film credits included House of Strangers, The Deep Six, Home Before Dark, Harlow, Wait Until Dark, Airport 1975, and Hot Shots!. His known television roles included Stuart "Stu" Bailey in the ABC private detective series 77 Sunset Strip, Inspector Lewis Erskine in the crime drama series The F.B.I., Dandy Jim Buckley in Maverick, and the voice of Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series and its numerous spin-offs from 1992 to 2004 and Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

His other television credits included Concerning Miss Marlowe, Hawaiian Eye, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Rawhide, Insight, Fantasy Island, Remington Steele, The Love Boat, Hotel, Murder, She Wrote, Zorro, Who's the Boss?, The Legend of Prince Valiant, The Nanny, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Babylon 5.

Zimbalist died on May 2, 2014, from natural causes.
