Trapped in a mall elevator, Phineas and Ferb think inside the box as Candace tries to make her date.
Plot[]
Candace is in a rush to get to a farewell concert by Tiny Cowboy and insists on borrowing her mom's dangly earrings, convinced they are essential to her outfit. Pressed for time, she reluctantly agrees to drive Phineas and Ferb to the Googolplex Mall on the condition that they promise not to engage in any "crazy inventing, wild adventures, or improbable shenanigans."
At the mall, Candace abandons the boys and heads for the third floor via elevator—only for them to follow her. At the same time, Agent P is dispatched by Major Monogram to stop Doofenshmirtz, who is also at the mall unveiling his Depowerinator, a device meant to shut down rival stores and force shoppers into buying his Les Schmirtz fashions. Perry’s interference causes the inator to malfunction, knocking out power and trapping both Candace and the boys, as well as Doofenshmirtz and Perry, in separate elevators.
While Candace panics about missing her date and accidentally disables her elevator's emergency phone, Phineas and Ferb remain calm and entertain themselves, even encouraging Candace to "Think Inside The Box", celebrating making the most of a bad situation. Meanwhile, Doof rambles about his plan, panics over being trapped, and proves thoroughly unhelpful when Candace tries to coordinate a rescue.
As the situation worsens due to the inator repeatedly jolting the elevators, Candace finally begs her brothers to do whatever it takes to escape—as long as she doesn’t have to see it. Phineas and Ferb secretly reengineer the elevator, transforming it into a rocket-powered vehicle that blasts out of the mall.
Perry ultimately destroys the Depowerinator, foiling Doof's scheme (and causing one last disastrous elevator crash for him). The boys' flying elevator delivers Candace to the concert venue—too late to get inside—but she is reunited with Jeremy, who was delayed by traffic. Though they miss the concert, Candace chooses to focus on being together, leading to a sweet moment where Jeremy accidentally confesses that he loves her.
The episode ends with Candace and Jeremy happily spending time together, while Phineas and Ferb prepare to pilot the elevator home.
This and its sister episode are the first episodes to premiere in 2026.
We finally find out the thing that Jeremy liked most about Candace, which kept getting teased in "The Great Indoors" is that Jeremy likes her is that she would rather make the most of the time they spend together rather than be upset over their plans getting messed up.
After "Think Inside the Box" is over, Candace had absolutely enough of this. She tells Phineas and Ferb to cease their action immediately because it is causing of her extreme frustration, annoyance and agitation behavior by yelling at them "Stop! Enough! You're driving me nuts!" and Doofenshmirtz also yells at Phineas, Ferb and Candace to keep it down in there, causing Phineas and Ferb to stop and agree with what they said and looked deeply sad and hurt that Candace was upset about, because this is the only sad episode ever in the fifth season of the show was revealed.
