Ernest Borgnine was an American actor whose career spanned over six decades. He was noted for his gruff but calm voice, Machiavellian eyebrows, and gap-toothed Cheshire Cat grin. He was best known for voicing Carface Caruthers in All Dogs Go to Heaven 2, the television series, and An All Dogs Christmas Carol, as well as being the original voice of Mermaid Man in the Nickelodeon animated series SpongeBob SquarePants from 1999 until his death in 2012.

For Disney, he played Harry Booth in the 1979 sci-fi film, The Black Hole. He also played Sen. Brighton in the 1984 Disney Channel Original Movie, Love Leads the Way: A True Story.
