Evan Morrow is the son of Alex Morrow and the protagonist of The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers. A gifted but struggling hockey player, Evan struggles when he finds himself axed from his local hockey team, The Mighty Ducks, but finds new purpose when his mother, Alex, convinces him to form his own hockey team to rival The Mighty Ducks.
History[]
Forming the Don't Bothers[]
After Evan is dropped from the Mighty Ducks prior to them entering a new age division, he is saddened at the prospect of never playing hockey again. His mom, Alex suggests that they form their own team, however, but Evan is sceptical at first. After Alex gets things rolling, Evan is eventually able to see the positives in forming their own team, and agrees to lead the team as their captain.
Evan tries to recruit fellow students to join their team, but finds this difficult. Nobody wants to join their team when the Ducks reign supreme. Nonetheless, with help of Nick, Evan is able to form a team they begin practicing at the Ice Palace.
Troubles with Alex[]
Things become difficult for the team, and specifically Evan, when it appears that his mom isn't taking the team seriously. Evan is furious when Alex gives out trophies despite them not having played a single game. Alex tells Evan that the team is having fun, and this should be what hockey is really about, but Evan isn't convinced. Evan wonders if he has lost his chance at playing for a team professionally in the future given Alex's relaxed attitude.
Things become increasingly complex for Evan when his efforts to convince his mom to take the Don't Bothers seriously go too far. Evan finds that Alex becomes driven on winning in an attempt to get to the state championships and beat the Mighty Ducks. Evan is reluctant to go along with Alex's strict training regime and diet, and tells her that she needs to relax. When she is reluctant, Evan fires her from the team, and Coach Bombay takes her place instead.
State Championships[]
Evan is ecstatic when the Don't Bothers make it to the state championships. He is conflicted, however, when Sofi hurts her knee, but refuses to sit on the sidelines, remarking that if she did so, the Don't Bothers would be disqualified from the championships. Evan is reluctant to allow her to play, however, and tells his mom and Bombay about Sofi and her knee. She is seen by a medic but is told she can still play.
Evan refuses to allow her to seriously injure herself to play in the championships, and sits out of the game, remarking that he will take responsibility for the team being disqualified instead. The Don't Bothers are therefore disqualified from the game and the championship win goes to Coach T and the Ducks. The Don't Bothers are able to win the following day against the Mighty Ducks, however, and take back the name.
Season 2
Evan and the Ducks get the opportunity to go to EPIC, a summer camp specializing in Hockey, and is coached by Coach Cole from the NHL. Evan is prepared to give it his all, due to the fact that he wants to improve to play for a college team. He starts out well by impressing the coach, but it costs him his couple relationship with Sofi. When the teams are picked out for the inner camp competition, Evan begs his mom to give him space, and let him get picked by Cole. When he does, he gives it his all in the practice, by proving himself in many ways, like chucking himself in order to stop a puck. Coach Cole is impressed, and starts encouraging him to leave off his friends. When the games start, Evan’s team (the Dominators) wins every game. When going up against the Ducks, he uses his non dominant hand like the rest of the team in order to get some training, and not giving it their all. All in all, the Dominators win, and Evan’s friends start pushing away from him. He tries to get back with his fellow ducks, but can’t, due to them replacing him with Jace Cole.
As the Dominators start choosing their captains, Evan shows his worth by surviving the ice bucket challenge. As he see’s his friends having fun though, he talks with his mom, telling her his problems. His mom tries to solve this by exchanging Jace for him, but he denies, saying that he feels challenged in that team.
As both the Ducks and the Dominators reach the finals, tensions break out, and both teams start fighting each other. As they clean up, all of them realize they need to take a break, so they have some fun in the sun, and sing in the campfire. After this, both teams decide to merge together.
Evan and the team start playing with the Canada team, and whilst playing, Evan is Jealous of Jace for getting college scouts. When learning that Jace was throwing all his shots, Evan gets enraged, and starts telling Jace how lucky he is. When a penalty shot is given to the Ducks, Jace gives the shot to Evan, believing he can do it. Evan scores the goal, winning the game, and a scout comes over to him, interested in his talent.
As camp ends, Evan still feels bad about leaving the place, but his mom declares to give him space, and even though he broke up with Sofi, he still was able to still talk to her in the RV as they head back home.
