Everett Ross is a Marvel Comics character who appeared in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever played by Martin Freeman. He is the Deputy Task Force commander, working with Thaddeus Ross, to bring in Bucky Barnes who was suspected for bombing the United Nations meeting. Later, when Baron Zemo was revealed to be the one for all the incidents that occurred Zemo was given over to Ross into custody by the Black Panther.
Everett Ross was created by Christopher Priest and Kenny Martinez.
Appearances
Captain America: Civil War
Working with Thaddeus Ross, he attempted to control and regulate the actions of the Avengers; he came into conflict with Captain America when he captured the framed Winter Soldier. In the end, upon learning that Helmut Zemo was responsible for the recent terrorism, he imprisoned Zemo in his headquarters.
Black Panther
Everett is called in when Ulysses Klaue is captured by T'Challa's people. However, he suffers a spinal injury when Erik Killmonger breaks into the holding facility and frees Klaw. Knowing Ross can't survive without Wakanda's medical technology, T'challa has him brought with and has Shuri repair his spine with Vibranium. Grateful for the help, Ross returns the favor by helping Black Panther stop Killmonger's coup and keep the secret of how advanced Wakanda is; becoming T'challa's ally in the outside world.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Everett Ross appears in the film. In 2025, Ross was approached by Shuri and Okoye who needed his help as Namor got involved after a water God had threatened Wakanda. As he owed Shuri his life, Ross disclosed sensitive information about Riri Williams and the search of vibranium, and continued his attempt to de-escalate the situation between Wakanda and America. However, his situation got serious, when Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, his ex-wife and the CIA Director, got involved. The ex-couple agreed to work together where she found out he had a new girlfriend or wife. Ross provided Ramonda about the United States' plans for Wakanda; however, Fontaine found out and had Ross arrested, before he was rescued by Okoye
Secret Invasion
A Skrull appears in the series premiere, posing as Ross, before he is shot by Talos, and his true nature is revealed. The real Ross appears in the series finale, when he and others taken by the Skrulls, are freed from captivity.
Trivia
- Despite sharing the same surname, he is not a relative of Thaddeus Ross.
