"Explorer Exchange" is the second segment of the second episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on February 6, 2015 alongside "Ocean in Motion".

Plot[]

In his room, Miles shows M.E.R.C. some Cosmic Explorer holo-badges he earned, like Blastboarding and meteor sledding. Miles then tells M.E.R.C. that another Cosmic Explorer is coming to visit, and he will earn a new holo with him. The Cosmic Explorer is Blodger, an alien from the planet Bloppsburgh. To get the holo, Miles and Blodger have to find something they both like to do, and share it with the other Cosmic Explorers. Miles wonders if he should do Blastboarding or Lazerang practice when M.E.R.C. wants a snack. As M.E.R.C. eats his Booster Bites, Stella informs Miles that an unidentified starship is approaching, and Miles thinks it's Blodger. M.E.R.C. eats a few more Booster Bites before following Miles.

In the hangar, Miles wonders if Blodger has arrived, and Leo tells him to slow down, stating that his family is dropping him off. Loretta plans to learn more about Planet Bloppsburgh from her Bracelex, as well. Phoebe says that the way the Callistos do things may be different from what Blodger is used to on his planet, and tells everyone to be patient and understanding. Leo and Miles say that that is cosmic explorer rule #1: Cosmic Explorers are friends to every kind of creature in the galaxy. Just then, Blodger arrives, and the Callistos introduce themselves to him. Blodger shows them dirt, which is from his parents, who thank him for letting him visit. Blodger says that dirt is his favorite flavor, meaning that Blodger eats dirt, and Loretta puts it in her Bracelex. The Callistos then made a special breakfast for Blodger, who is very excited to see what it is.

After Miles tells Blodger that Leo made a special breakfast for him, Blodger gets excited that he eats the vase in the middle of the table. Leo arrives with galactic pancakes. As the Callistos tell Blodger about the fruit they made, Blodger continues to eat the pancakes without utensils. Loretta says that he is not using a fork, and Leo reminds her that every family does things differently. As Leo gets more food, Miles tells Phoebe if he and Blodger could be excused so that Miles and M.E.R.C. could take Blodger blastboarding. Phoebe tells Miles that he has space chores to do, which also excites Blodger. Miles and M.E.R.C. demonstrate how to clear up space dust, and Blodger sticks to the window to clean it up. When Leo and Phoebe see this, Phoebe tells Miles that that is enough now, and Miles, Blodger, and M.E.R.C. head to the activity room.

Miles then demonstrates how great Blastboarding is to him, and Blodger tries to do the same, but is unable to stay on the board. Miles and Blodger try to ride M.E.R.C. instead, but Blodger falls off, as well. Blodger tries to do some Lazerang practice and quantum kick, but fails at those, as well. Blodger concludes that he is not too good at human things, and Miles thinks that he could be good at Bloopsburgh things. However, Miles does not know how to slime ski, ooze juggle, or blob bounce, and Blodger thinks they will never earn the holo-badge. Miles then reminds Blodger of cosmic explorer rule #7: Cosmic Explorers never quit. Miles questions what he and Blodger can both do when Blodger finds an old solar panel chip, which is part of Miles' space junk collection. Blodger also reveals that he has a chunk of satellite back home, and Miles concludes that he and Blodger like to find space junk. They then decide to look for some and bring it back to share with the other Cosmic Explorers.

At that time, the Stellosphere parks at a safe distance from a nearby star while also being very close to space junk, which excites Blodger, Miles, and M.E.R.C. Phoebe reminds them that the more they clear up, the safer that part of the galaxy will be for starships flying through. Miles and Blodger do not forget to use their space tethers, and M.E.R.C. will keep an eye on them. The three are amazed by the different space junk. Blodger finds sparkly meteroids, and Miles finds a quantum processor. Just then, Blodger finds a nearby rocket, and while getting there, he breaks free from his tether. While looking at how amazing it is, he accidentally turns on its engines, causing the rocket to head straight toward the star. Miles rides M.E.R.C. to chase the rocket, and Blodger breaks free from the rocket by pretending he is riding Miles' Blastboard. The three then head back to the Stellosphere's hangar.

Blodger apologizes to Phoebe for going so far from the ship, stating that he has never spacewalked before, and Phoebe understands it. Miles decides that he and Blodger have to do something else to earn the holo. When Blodger wonders about collecting space junk, Leo says that it is too dangerous for any more of that, but Blodger says that they do not have to go outside. He then takes a deep breath, pulling the junk into the hangar. Miles wonders why Blodger did not tell him he could do that, and Blodger concludes that everyone could do that and he wanted to things like a human. In the bridge, Blodger shows the Cosmic Explorers a lens from a Mars rover, which Blodger found and Miles helped him identify it. Mr. Xylon informs the two that they earned their Explorer Exchange holo-badges. Just as Loretta decides to ask Blodger some questions about his home planet, Stella informs him that his starship is approaching, meaning that it is time for Blodger to leave. Before doing so, Blodger updates Loretta's file with everything she needs to know, accidentally getting slime all over her Bracelex. Leo then takes a photo of Miles, Blodger, and M.E.R.C., which ends up in Miles' collection.
