Prior to its conversion into the Fantasy Faire, the site was known as the Carnation Gardens Plaza, where musical events were held mostly during the evenings (including dancing events) until it was closed on April 30, 2012. To honor this, a plaque in one of the towers commemorates the site's original usage. The dancing events returned in 2013.
In addition to its theater and meet and greet, the Fantasy Faire is home to several other features related to classic animated films. A maypole at the center of the courtyard takes the form of Rapunzel's Tower, an animatronic figure of Figaro can be spotted napping on a windowsill, and the interactive Clopin's Music Box allows guests to see the Festival of Fools emcee dance to "Topsy Turvy".
