Expansion History
2008: It's a Small World
In 2008, Hong Kong Disneyland's version of "it's a small world" opened as the first expansion of Fantasyland. The ride, located next to Storybook Theater and behind the railroad track, is the first of its kind to feature Disney characters. An ice-cream shop is also opened along with the attraction.
2015: 10th Anniversary Celebration "Happily Ever After"
A grassland behind Mickey's PhilharMagic and next to Fantasyland Train Station is being transformed into Fairy Tale Forest, an interactive walkthrough attraction featuring miniature scenes from five Disney Princesses movies. The garden also contains a new Pixie Hollow, allowing guests to meet and greet Tinker Bell.
The Golden Mickeys, a live musical stage show which has been running since the Park's opening in 2005, is also replaced by the brand new Mickey and the Wondrous Book, as a part of the Park's 10th anniversary celebration.
2019: Redesigned Sleeping Beauty Castle
On November 22 2016, a multiyear expansion plan for the Park is announced. The iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle will be redesigned and expanded, with new daytime stage show and nighttime spectacular, opening in 2019.
