Development history[]
Due to the success of the Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland, Splash Mountain was later constructed at Frontierland at Magic Kingdom and Critter Country at Tokyo Disneyland respectively, the imagineering team created the two rabbit animatronics.
As of 2020, Splash Mountain was announced for closure in order to remove all references to Song of the South due to controversy surrounding the film which the attraction is based on to make way for a Princess and the Frog-themed attraction, while the Oriental Land Company has not yet announced whether to retheme the Tokyo Disneyland version of Splash Mountain or not. The Magic Kingdom version of Splash Mountain permanently closed on January 23, 2023.
The two rabbits were replaced by plants and bushes for the "Gonna Take You There" sequence, of the new attraction. But an Easter egg of them could be seen inside the Tiana's Foods headquarters.
