Farrah Leni Fawcett was an American actress and artist. For Disney, she played Sandy Archer in the 1995 comedy film Man of the House. She also voiced Faucet in the 1998 direct-to-DVD film The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars.
Fawcett was born on February 2, 1947, in Corpus Christi, Texas and attended Catholic school before attending the University of Texas, where she studied microbiology before switching her major to art. After photos of were sent to various agencies in Hollywood, Fawcett decided to move to Los Angeles where she worked in modeling, commercials, and soon found guest spots on shows like The Flying Nun, I Dream of Jeannie, The Partridge Family, and The Six Million Dollar Man.
Her breakthrough role came in 1976 with Jill Munroe in the first season of the ABC crime drama series Charlie's Angels but made guest appearances until 1980. Not wanting to be typecast, Fawcett sought out dramatic roles to play. While she appeared in films such as Myra Breckinridge, Logan's Run, Saturn 3, and The Cannonball Run, Fawcett found new acclaim in television movies The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, Double Exposure: The Story of Margaret Bourke-White, and Small Sacrifices. She also appeared in both the stage and film production of William Mastrosimone's Extremities where she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
In 2006, Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer and sought out a variety of treatments to cure it. She chronicled much her journey which would become the documentary Farrah's Story. Despite her initial progress, the cancer returned and she passed away on June 25, 2009. Her death was overshadowed by media coverage of Michael Jackson's death who died hours after her.
