Father Kent is a character in Disney's 2023 film Haunted Mansion, based on the ride of the same name. He is a priest whom Gabbie and her son Travis encounter at the Haunted Mansion alongside Ben Matthias, Harriet, as well as Bruce Davis.

Background

Kent is the first person whom Gabbie encounters when she discovers the house where she and her son moved to is haunted. True to his name, he is often seen wearing a cross around his neck, hence his duty as a clergyman often showing a casual approach to matters of faith, especially when it comes to the challenges inside the mansion. However, it's later revealed he works at a costume store and pretends to be a priest. Later after defeating Hatbox Ghost/Alister Crump he under goes ordainment to become a real priest.

Physical Appearance

Kent is a fifty-year old Caucasian man with fair skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair with gray streaks. He is usually seen wearing black robes complete with a white collar, a silver cross around his neck, black pants, black shoes, and a black derby hat.

Trivia

• It is unknown if Kent is his first or last name as priests are colloquially addressed as "Father" before either their true name or last name, even their nickname.
• It is possible Kent is religious before and after he became a minister as he did how prayers and blessings worked.
