"Fernie's Float" is the second segment of the twentieth episode of Ariel. It premiered on February 7, 2025 alongside "Razzle Dazzle".
Plot[]
Ravi serves Ariel and her friends Yummy-Yam-Lantica juice, which they like. Ravi had help from his fellow Atlanticans, who were telling him which flavors they'd like to try. Ravi listened to their ideas and put the flavors together to make Yummy-Yam-Lantica. Ravi wants to let everyone know he finished it. After Flounder mentions it, Ariel decides for her friends to build a parade float for Ravi's new juice, to which they agree. Ravi also likes the idea, and Fernie is drawing what the float will look like. Fernie mentions other ideas for what the float will contain.
Ariel, Lucia, and Fernie get to work on the float with Flounder cheering them on. Everything is looking good except for the purple seaweed streamers, which should be green. Lucia likes the purple ones, and so does Ariel. Lucia gets more purple while Fernie goes to the market for more decorations for the float that match the picture. Later, Fernie arrives and sees the float decorated by juice cups, which isn't on his drawing. He puts them in the box while Ariel puts them back. They eventually confront each other and Ariel decides to put more juice cups on the float for the residents in Atlantica. Flounder and Lucia like it, and Fernie goes to get snacks from the kitchen.
Fernie then arrives with the snacks when he sees sea bunnies around the float. While Ariel, Lucia, and Flounder like them, Fernie is annoyed that it doesn't look like the picture. Fernie then tells Ravi about the progress regarding the float. Ravi sees how different it is, and loves it; the adorable sea bunnies are hopping all around. Ravi mentions that the float doesn't have to be exactly like the picture. Fernie's friends came up with better ideas for the float, and Ravi mentions that lots of Atlanticans had different ideas which he listened to in order to make the Yummy-Yam-Lantica juice. Fernie knows that it's good to listen to everyone's ideas, as they might come up with something even better.
Fernie then decides on a juice float, and goes to talk to his friends while thanking Ravi for the help and the juice. Fernie likes his friends' ideas and apologizes for not listening to them earlier. Ariel and Lucia like Fernie's picture of the float, and Fernie accepts that the float doesn't have to look exactly like the picture. He'll put the sea flowers on the float, which is then ready. Later, Ariel and her friends bring the float to the parade, exciting the Atlanticans, who go to get the juice. Ravi calls it the best juice float ever, and Fernie thanks him, as he couldn't have done it without his friends.
