Francisco "Frankie" Muniz IV is an American actor, voice actor, musician, writer, producer, and race car driver. He is best known for playing the titular character of the Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, which earned him an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations. He is also well-known for portraying the titular character of the Agent Cody Banks films, Jason Shepherd in the 2002 Universal Pictures comedy film Big Fat Liar, and voicing Stripes the zebra in the 2005 sports comedy film Racing Stripes.

For Disney, he made a guest appearance in Lizzie McGuire. He also played Justin Yoder in the Disney Channel Original Movie Miracle in Lane 2, Swink Sylvania in Stay Alive, and Corey Harris in the ABC TV show The Rookie. Additionally, he voiced Augie Sansome, Willie, and Tony Clementina in Fillmore!, as well as Domino in the 2000 video game 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue.

Muniz was born in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, the son of nurse Denise and restaurateur Francisco Muniz III. Muniz's mother is half Irish and half Italian, while his father is Puerto Rican (of Spanish descent from Asturias). He has an elder sister named Cristina. When Muniz was four years old, his family moved to Knightdale, North Carolina, where he grew up. He was discovered at the age of eight at a talent show in Raleigh, North Carolina, playing Tiny Tim in a local production of A Christmas Carol. His parents divorced shortly after, and he subsequently moved with his mother to Burbank, California. Beginning in the sixth grade, he was home-schooled by his mother.
