David Wayne Spade is an American actor, stand-up comedian, producer, screenwriter, and television personality. He is best known as a cast member on the NBC late-night sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live (19901996). He is also well-known for portraying Richard Hayden in the 1995 buddy comedy film Tommy Boy (with the late Chris Farley), the titular character of the 2001 comedy film Joe Dirt, and Marcus Higgins in the Grown Ups films. Additionally, he voiced Scuzz the fly in the 2005 sports comedy film Racing Stripes, Griffin the Invisible Man in Sony Pictures' Hotel Transylvania franchise, and Sparx in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning video game.

For Disney, he voiced Kuzco in the 2000 Disney animated feature film The Emperor's New Groove and its 2005 sequel. He also portrayed C.J. Barnes in the ABC sitcom 8 Simple Rules (2004–2005) and Ed Gunt in The Mayor.
