Linda Woolverton is an American screenwriter, producer, author, and playwright, who wrote the screenplay for Disney's 1991 animated feature film Beauty and the Beast. She also co-wrote the story for Disney's 1994 animated feature film The Lion King, and provided additional story and writing material for Disney's 1998 animated feature film Mulan. In 2010, more than ten years later, Woolverton returned to Disney to write the screenplay for the Tim Burton adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and she also wrote the screenplay for its sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. Additionally, she wrote the screenplay for Maleficent.

Personal life[]

Woolverton is divorced from producer Lee Flicker. Together, they had a daughter named Keaton who was born in 1991. She currently lives in Hancock Park, Los Angeles and has two dogs.
