"Sleeping Minnie" is the nineteenth episode of the first season of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It originally aired on Playhouse Disney (now Disney Junior) on November 17, 2006.

Plot[]

Minnie has sniffed one of Clarabelle's sleeping roses and fallen fast asleep. Now it's up to Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to find the golden harp to awaken Minnie. Otherwise, Minnie won't wake up for 100 years.

Synopsis[]

The episode begins in the Clubhouse with Mickey greeting the viewers as a nervous Clarabelle runs in and frantically tells him that Minnie sniffed a sleeping rose and is now cursed is to sleep for 100 years. When Mickey asks how they can break the spell, Clarabelle explains that he must strum a tune from the golden harp, which is hidden in the maze and attaining it requires smarts. Mickey goes to the Mouse-ke-doer to pick up his Mouseketools: a carpet, a wagon, a pair of safety scissors, and the Mystery Mouseketool.

Mickey makes it to the glass bridge and meets Donald, who struggles to cross it due to its slippery surface. Mickey calls Toodles for the carpet, providing a surface that he and Donald can use to cross the glass bridge safely. While making their way to the maze, they run into Goofy, who whispers because he has just put a baby bear to sleep. The friends tip-toe, but the baby bear wakes up. Donald tries to sing it back to sleep, but fails. Goofy calls Toodles for the Mystery Mouseketool, which is a music box, allowing Mickey to use it to produce a lullaby to lull the baby bear back into sleeping.

The trio makes it to the maze, but Pete prevents them from entering, saying he will let them in if they bring a big golden apple from a nearby tree. Mickey calls Toodles for the safety scissors, allowing them to get the golden apple from the tree. After giving the apple to Pete and gaining entry to the maze, the friends navigate their way to the golden harp and Mickey calls Toodles one last time for the wagon so they can more easily transport the harp to Minnie. The friends then head to Clarabelle's garden, where Clarabelle and Daisy are trying to wake up Minnie, to unfortunately no avail. Mickey strums the golden harp and successfully wakes up Minnie. Everyone (except for Clarabelle) goes to the Clubhouse and does the Hot Dog Dance. The episode ends with everyone exiting the Clubhouse as it disappears and Mickey waving goodbye to the viewers.

Trivia[]

  • This is the last of three episodes on the Mickey's Storybook Surprises DVD.
  • The title is a play on Sleeping Beauty.
  • Pluto does not appear in this episode until The Hot Dog Song.
  • This is the first episode where a character other than Mickey tells the viewers to call for Toodles; in this case Goofy. He would later do it again in the season 3 episode "Goofy Babysitter".
  • This is also the first episode where Mickey says "We picked all of our Mousketools" Instead of "We used all of our Mousketools" when saying "Super Cheers".

Goofs[]

  • When the Baby Bear started to wake up, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are a few feet away from it. But when the camera angle changes, they are close to the Baby Bear.
