Mark Ian Addy is an English actor who, for Disney, he played the role of the Steamer Captain in the 2004 live-action movie Around the World in 80 Days. He also voiced Clyde in the 2018 fantasy film Mary Poppins Returns.
Addy was born in York and attended Joseph Rowntree School. Addy furthered his acting education by attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, graduating with an Acting Diploma in 1984. Over the years, Addy appeared on stage and screen roles such as Dave Horsefall in The Full Monty, Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, and Roland in A Knight's Tale. He also appeared in The Time Machine (2002), Downton Abby, Down to Earth, and Jack Frost (1998).
His notable television roles include Still Standing, and Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones. He has appeared in The Ritz, Heartbeat, Married... with Children, Peak Practice, The Thin Blue Line, Doctor Who, and The Rig.
