Taika David Cohen, ONZM, known professionally as Taika Waititi, is a New Zealand actor, comedian, director, producer, and screenwriter. He is perhaps best known for his roles as Alamein in the 2010 comedy-drama film Boy, Thomas Kalmaku in the 2011 superhero film Green Lantern (alongside Ryan Reynolds), and Korg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
For Disney, he directed the post-credits in Doctor Strange, and directed Thor: Ragnarok, in which he also played Korg and provided motion capture for Surtur and Hulk. He also reprised his role as Korg in Avengers: Endgame, What If...?, and Thor: Love and Thunder, in which he coincidentally directed. Additionally, he directed episodes of The Mandalorian, in which he also voiced IG-11, and voiced Mo Morrison in Disney/Pixar's Lightyear.[1] For 20th Century Studios, he portrayed Antwan in Free Guy and directed, wrote, and produced Jojo Rabbit, in which he also played Adolf Hitler. He also directed the 2023 film Next Goal Wins.
He is set to direct Tower of Terror[2], Flash Gordon, as well as a currently untitled Star Wars film.
