Sarah Kate Silverman is an American Emmy Award winning stand-up comedian, actress, producer, and writer, who is best known for her work on Saturday Night Live and for starring and hosting in her self-titled sitcom The Sarah Silverman Program. Her comedy consistently addresses social taboos and controversial topics.
Starring her career as writer and performer on Saturday Night Live, Silverman would later appear in shows, like Star Trek: Voyager, Mr. Show, V.I.P., Futurama, Frasier, Crank Yankers, Monk, Louie, The League, Bob's Burgers, and hosted the Hulu web television late-night talk show I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman. She also appeared in films, like Who's the Caboose?, School of Rock, A Million Ways to Die in the West, Rent, School of Scoundrels, and I Smile Back, for which she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
For Disney, she voiced Vanellope von Schweetz in the 2012 Disney animated feature film Wreck-It Ralph and the 2013 video game Disney Infinity and reprised the role in the 2018 sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet. She also made a cameo as a waitress in the 2011 Disney film The Muppets.
She is the younger sister of actress and comedian Laura Silverman.
