"Finder's Kelpers" is the first segment of the seventh episode of the Disney Channel animated series StuGo.

Synopsis[]

Kelp-Tomania! Pliny and the Kelp Folk try to beat Lullah at her own game.

Plot[]

Dr. Lullah and Mr. Okay set up a game show type scenario called Finder's Keepers, where Dr. Lullah rushes into a disused boardwalk to collect items for herself. The kids arrive, curious to her actions, and ask that they join her. They collect an assortment of items from the boardwalk, though Merian mostly collects trash, but in a cruel twist, Dr. Lullah announces that everything they have collected is her cut and leaves them a box of useless items. The kids find it unfair, btu she refuses to budge, telling them that life isn't fair and promptly locks all collected items in her vault.

As the kids mope, they are suddenly by the miniature, and violent, Kelp Folk who demand the return of their things, but cannot remain in dry areas for too long, lest they wither up. They blame the kids for stealing their things, but they explain that their things were taken by Dr. Lullah and agree to get them back. Unfortunately, Dr. Lullah flat out refuses as she insists on the mantra of "finders keepers". The next day, Dr. Lullah goes at it again, with the kids claiming that they will comply with her rules. The Kelp Folk proceed to attack Dr. Lullah, though it has absolutely no effect, while Merian and Sara put a snow globe in her cart.

Dr. Lullah puts all of her things away in the vault, briefly considering the appearance of the globe, before retiring for the night. A Kelp person escapes the globe and lets the rest of his people into the building, flooding it and spitting Dr. Lullah and Mr. Okay out. As Pliny congratulates herself on teaching Dr. Lullah a lesson, the Kelp Folk reveal that they really like Dr. Lullah's place and have decided to move in permanently. With no other option, Dr. Lullah and Mr. Okay decide to bunk with the children where the former decides to share a piece of a large stuffed cat with Pliny, something she had previously coveted.

Trivia[]

  • This episode implies that the island once used to inhabit a lot of people, as evidenced by the disused boardwalk featuring a caricature photo.
  • The episode ends with the matter of the Kelp people never truly being resolved, a humorous habit of most shows that take an episodic format.
