"Finding Professor Ex" is the second segment of the twenty-fifth episode of the Disney Channel animated series, Hamster & Gretel.
Synopsis[]
When Professor Exclamation goes missing, Gretel and Nordle try to find him.
Plot[]
Feeling guilty about sending Professor Exclamation to the Arctic as a last resort to avoid having her memory erased, Gretel decides to pay Nordle a visit. She finds him saddened about only having Tobor to care for him and decides to help him find his father. They achieve this by locating his hat in the room he disappeared from, which then leads to a series of riddles that leads them through an abandoned dollhouse.
However, while solving the final riddle, Nordle's date of birth, Tobor warns him that the answer is incorrect as Exclamation was never able to remember it (he said it was 01-01-01 because it was easy to remember). As a result, a mechanical likeness of Exclamation activates a laser defense system and attacks them. Tobor is severely damaged when he protects Nordle, prompting the latter to mourn over the former when he realizes he has someone to care for him after all. Tobor then reveals that he repaired himself and carries a relieved Nordle out of a hole they fell through where they reunite with Gretel, who managed to destroy the lasers during their absence. The three happily walk away together.
Meanwhile, Kevin, Hamster, and Fred decide to see who can go the longest without using electronics. The three develop intriguing hobbies during this time, with Kevin taking up science, Fred writing a novel, and Hamster foraying into meditating. However, they are easily swayed back into the technological world when Carolina returns home and decides to watch a telenovela.
