William Finlay Currie was a Scottish actor of stage, screen, and television, who, for Disney, appeared as Billy Bones in Treasure Island, Hamish MacPherson in Rob Roy, the Highland Rogue, Cluny MacPherson in Kidnapped, and Grandpa Stirling in The Three Lives of Thomasina.

Currie was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, attended George Watson's College, and worked as organist and choir director before he got his first job in Benjamin Fuller's theatre group, and appeared with them for almost 10 years.

He made his film debut in 1931 with The Old Man before gaining acclaim as the escaped convict Abel Magwitch in David Lean's adaptation of Great Expectations. His other film appearances included Undercover, The Black Rose, The Mudlark, Around the World in 80 Days, Quo Vadis, Ben-Hur (1959), Francis of Assisi, The Fall of the Roman Empire, People Will Talk, Ivanhoe, Stars and Stripes Forever, King's Rhapsody, The Naked Earth, Solomon and Sheba, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Cleopatra. His television credits included BBC Sunday-Night Theater, Danger Man, Dixon of Dock Green, Gideon's Way, The Prisoner, The DuPont Show of the Week, and The Saint. He appeared TV films, such as the 1966 television adaptation of the musical Brigadoon.

Late in life, he became an antiques dealer, specializing in coins and precious metals. Currie died in 1968 in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire. His ashes were scattered in Breakspear Crematorium, Ruislip, Middlesex.
