Flarrietta is a character in the 2023Disney/Pixar animated feature film Elemental. She is one of the Lumen's neighbors who takes over their convenience store, The Fireplace, after Bernie Lumen's retirement.
Flarrietta is known for her playful sense of humor and, along with Flarry, the tendency to poke fun at Bernie's cooking skills. After Firetown's reconstruction, she and Flarry are entrusted with running the Lumen's convenience store. Flarrietta also likes to tease in a playful way, which becomes evident when she took delight in teasing Bernie about his cooking skills, and Bernie, with a hearty laugh, always joined in on the fun.
Physical appearance[]
Flarrietta is a slim elderly woman with noticeable wrinkles under her eyes. Like other fire elements, her entire body is composed of fiery hues, featuring shades of red, orange, and yellow.
Flarrietta dons a pair of glasses, and a fire proof shawl over her shoulders. At one point in the movie, when she and several others enter The Fireplace during their "Red Dot Sale", she is seen using a walking stick.
Role in the film[]
Flarrietta is first seen watching a fictional television show at the Fireplace, alongside Flarry. Upon hearing an actress saying her lines, they and Cinder (who is holding a t-shirt) react to the character's lines in shock. Several years later, Flarrietta and Flarry react to Ember's temper while dealing with a customer who complains that the products she is buying are not from Fireland. Upon hearing this, Flarrietta tells Flarry that Ember almost became completely enraged, setting the fire danger meter to high. Flarrietta later reacts to Bernie, who has a terrible cough, commmenting that his cough is as terrible as his cooking.
Later, Flarrietta and Flarry are furious that there are more leaks coming from the pipes above at the Fireplace, only for Ember to fix the broken pipe just before leaving to the Alkali Theater to watch a movie with Wade. Flarry and Flarietta are later seen during the climax of the film where they notice Ember reconciling with Wade who was brought back to life. Months later, Flarrietta comments to Flarry about what she likes best running the shop, which Flarry replies about not having to eat Bernie's kol-nuts.
Trivia[]
Flarrietta and Flarry's names are never mentioned in the movie, neither by themselves, nor another character. Nevertheless, their names were still revealed and displayed in the credits.
Flarrietta is one of the few fire people in the movie to be seen wearing glasses.
It is unknown what Flarrietta's relationship with Flarry is as they are always seen together throughout the film.
