Flounder is a character who appears in the Disney Jr. animated series Ariel. Like the original character, he is a fish who is Ariel's friend.
He is based on the character of the same name from The Little Mermaid.
Background[]
Flounder is a cute yellow fish with blue stripes who is always beside his best friend, Ariel. He likes having fun and playing with friends, and very open about trying new things. He joined the fish race in "A Winner's Spirit", and even though is was not the fastest fish, he only joined in for the fun of it. In "The Spooky Mirror Trick", he wanted to pull of a scary trick on his friends during spooky season. But found it difficult to scare people because of his cuteness. But with some help from Ursula, he was able pull off a spooky trick on Sebastian.
While he is not always bright at times, Flounder is known to be responsible when he needs to be. In "Rainbow Sea Caves", he tried to follow the signs to the Rainbow caves while Ariel, Lucia, and Fernie paid hardly any attention to them.
Trivia[]
- Flounder, along with Sebastian, are the only two characters in the series who maintain their original appearance.
